XML Primer
« on: December 30, 2003, 05:18:39 pm »

Well, it's not as polished as I'd have liked, but I do think it's essentially complete.  So here's a link to the PDF that I'll host for the time being:  http://pages.sbcglobal.net/scottraymond/downloads/XML%20Primer.pdf.  I apologize for some of the formatting problems - Adobe doesn't do tables too well and I got tired of trying to massage Word to get a better result.  Maybe if I release an update I'll fix the problems.

I'd appreciate any feedback - especially if there are areas that need more/better explaining.  I know it's a bit long, but if you take out the details of the XAlbum, it's really not too bad.

When Scott_r.'s "MC XML Export" plugin is released as final, it should include everything needed for XAlbum.  I'll report back here when it happens and perhaps I'll update that part of the Primer (because there will be some changes).

If anyone is interested in using Tomcat, let me know.  I remember someone was trying to install it (sorry, I can't remember who) and ran into trouble.  But I just installed it the other day on a friend's computer and it went smooth as could be.

Downloaded and printed.
Its way over my head, but I'll definitely read through it.  I want to understand this kinda stuff better...
Thanks.

If you skip over the XSLT grouping stuff, I think you'll find the rest is pretty reasonable.  Please don't hesitate to give me feedback or ask if something's not clear.
