OneRemote 1.10

OneRemote is a customizable menu program that lets you add categories, sub-categories, devices, and links.  It is in a very early stage.

Use the Settings button to add items.

Press and hold an item to edit it or to add a picture.

Use the Search button to discover devices that respond to SSDP.  The Id is one such device.

Click on the device to connect to its Presentation Page.

Press and hold to save it as a button (item).

You can save the configurations and retrieve them locally or on a JRiver server.

Available here for Android:

(It's currently unsigned, so you will have to change your settings to allow installing software from an unknown source.)

1.10 (4/19/2016)

   1. Changed: Increased the text size of the labels on all the
   OneRemote buttons.
   2. Changed: Instead of 58.4, started numbering from 1.10.
   3. Changed: "Please Wait..." text on search result page has been
changed to "Click on a device to connect. Click and hold to save
it as a button. Some devices may not offer results. Only devices
that support SSDP and have a Presentation Page will work. "

Why is this important?  It's the beginning of a new JRiver software system that automates the setup and control of many devices.

It has applications in our digital media world.  It can now find an Id or another SSDP device and connect to its Presentation Page (w web page that the device serves).  By doing this, it can act as a remote control for the Id.  For it to be very useful, the device has to do some of the work.  The Presentation Page needs to give the user access to features and settings of the device.

It also has applications in the Internet of Things area.  The menu will eventually be able to control Engen, the Z-Wave server we're building.

Here's how it looks when it's used to search for the Id and connect to it.

If you click on the Search button in the upper right corner above, you get this list of network devices seen below.

If you then click on a single device, its Presentation Page is displayed.  The one below is from the JRiver Id.
