J River don't have any phones, JimH could not pay for flying lessons and pay the phone bill.

maybe you need to state what version of windows you have, and what version of MC your trying to install.

what do you mean nothing happens?

maybe there is something wrong with the install file?

This is where you get support for MC.

You didn't mention which version you have, however maybe this will help:

version 10 go to the JRiver home page and just download the program (using IE) and install it. Then in MC goto Help>Restore.

version 9.1 goto: ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/old/  and intstall from the exe file from there.

version 9.0 goto: http://gmail.google.com then: Login: mcfiles @ gmail.com (remove spaces)
password: mediacenter

version11 you can find at top of this forum.

Hope this helps.

This is customer service.  You're getting good advice.

What version of MC are you installing?  Where did you get it?

I have downloaded mc 10 twice now.
I am use a virgin xp setup.
The installer begins and asks me to wait as a bar goes across the screen.
The bar fills to the end and then nothing. I wait and wait.
Nothing. Nothing is running, nothing is installing, just nothing.

You may be out of temp file space.

Run IE and do Tools/Internet Options/Temporary Files/Delete Files.

The software works.  You have some other problem with your PC.

We've seen this problem before.  I just don't remember the solution.  Virus checker?  Pop up blocker?  Etc.  Something on your PC is stopping the install.

It could be that Rar (which unzips the file) is being blocked.  Try running winrar and unzipping the files to a folder, then running the install.

You're welcome.

For the benefit of someone else who might have the problem, can you name the programs you un-installed?

Thanks.

Norton anti and utillities, avg home, Spygiant, one other.
The last three come on my box after paying some to fix it. I cannot remeber the name of the last.
I am happily use avast for anti virus and screw norton.
I like this software best because of it's Tivo intagration.
Keep up the good work.
Hugs to my folk in MPLS. Lived there for 26 years.
Thanks again
