Hello

a new Mega Skin for MC 11 is to be on the horizon (nearly finished). Maybe someone of you like it.

One thing, and this is just a personal deal, I like the rating stars to be a little understated. I think that if they are larger or are too colorful they can be unnecessarily distracting when looking at lists of tracks where there is a lot of info displayed.

I particularly like the work you have done on the track info/ track progress bar area.

First of all I would like to thank you all for the positive and constructive feedback on my new mega skin. It is my first skin I ever made, so I went the hard way to start at zero. Learning to use PS CS, try to understand the XML file (btw. the Megamorphis for mega skins seems not to be up-to-date), find the a good color harmonic . It took me long ... very long to get a feeling how the skin looks good. It's nice to see that someone else is appreciate my work. Thanks again.

You are right, the tooltip ... not only the tooltip, most of the ActionWindow content was very difficult to read. I did a modification in the current version of my skin. Maybe you will have another try ? The stars of the rating column have to modified too, I agree.

While the overall look of this theme doesn't fit my taste (eheh, can't work for everyone ;-) ), I REALLY like what you've done with the top menu + now playing area. I think it's quite clever!

My intention was, that my MegaMe skin should be different ... so I decided to have this tiny buttons below the shuffle, continues and DSP symbol. I hope it's not to distracting.

This skin is just a bit too grey for me but I LOVE the design and the artwork. Opus MC Blue is still the one for me but with artistic skills like that I hope you stick around for a long time and give us more beautiful skins to rival Dragyn's master pieces. It's unbelievable that you can produce something as good as this as a first effort. I'm jealous.

if you there which enters than overlaps the search box the skin

I really like this skin. nice work. I can see me having to find the time to knock out an "aluminium toolbar" skin for the playingnow plugin. Would you be OK with that idea?

also, I still felt that the ratings were a bit "in yer face" so I switched them for these...

you certainly succeeded in creating something different. well done.

well, to be honest it's not really my first one, but it's the second in total. Aluminium is completely made by myself. The real first one was only a try to make a skin (I named it MC Avenger) which fits more to my Windowbinds skin Avenger from MikeB314 ::: Link :::. So I took most of the skin out of Mike's masterpiece and combined it with my own playerbar design. Maybe, if I can get the permission from him, I will post here later.

For the future of Aluminium I can imagine to develop some additional color variations.

yes, it's OK for me. How can I support you by developing the "aluminium toolbar" ? Is there a description / manual / guideline to create a skin for the playingnow plug-in available ?

I will also think again about this rating stars.

Normally the search window adapts to the text not in such a way, with yours skin.

.... hm ..... that's a difficult one, because I never checked that the search field changed the size and position .... and the media mode symbols too. Maybe I need some help from the JRiver side.

If someone from there read my thread : How can I prevent the search field from changing his position and size ? I already found out, that when I use the "JRImage Matrix Drawing" format and there the "columns" parameter that I can limit the size, but the field is still moving around if the content is bigger. If there is no way, then my concept of the skin isn't working. Maybe someone from JRiver may have a look on it.

My favorite

The buttons in Library Browser position though have in my opinion a nicer shap in all other

skins. Well I don't know if the shape are the same in all skins but at least Aruba,

Thunderstorm abd the ones that came with the installation.

Btw. : One question, does someone of the great skinners have a tool what make it easier to find a harmonic color scheme for the list and tree part of a MegaMe Skin ?

.... here it is .... but, I don't feel happy with the colors of the 'infield' (Tree / List area). I will change it, but it's difficult to find the right combination of a color set. It will take some time to develope something manually within the 'main.xml'.

Btw.: In regard to your annotation about the library buttons .... within the original skins from jriver, you will find only the default ones. There is an option to develop this buttons fitting to the skin and I took the option.

maybe there is a misunderstanding. It's not that the user has an option within MC to decide if he/she wants to have the default style of the Library buttons or the buttons which came with the specific skin. It an option for the developer, he/she can create Library buttons and use them or he/she can take the default which are also used by Aruba, Thunderstorm, PixOS, Z, ...

Sorry if my post before gave you some kind of hope that you can change this within MC by yourself.

Is it possible to have the Aluminum black two theme with
the illuminated text in the file list looking like the brighter Text as you highlighted it in the main track tile window

(you know like inthe upper progress track tile window - white or brighter???) (Similar to Windows Media Player 10 text)

Sorry to bugh you again - but there;s one thing i noticed about aLuminum 2 that you might want to change::

It's beautiful overall except for when you call up the Tag Info tab .

The Options to the left like "lyrics bios album title and track title are so dark that you can't seee them unless you put your eyes righ UP against the screen. You may want to try a lighter shade here or even make the text like Lyrics/bios/album title headings white or lit up so they can be seen. Otherwise they cannot be sen when you are ripping a cd for example.

It's Much better now!!!!!
You should do more SKINS like this opne theme only in different colours
Like Green Blue White, Black, Pink (for the wimmin) and Maybe Purple, Gold etc.

It wouyld do really well in other colours cause this one is even better than that "thunderstoirm" one they came out with a few years back.

It seems that there is a bug in the gold version. Please refer to the following screenshot. Notice the 'nick' after the volume slider and under the search-field.
