dual boot and thumbnails
« on: December 29, 2006, 06:20:22 am »

i have a dual boot machine, where both boots use mc12 with the same library. a had all the thumbs build on the first boot. after doin the same on the second boot some thumbs were wrong on the first boot and a big part had to be rebuild.

has this something to do with how the thumbs are saved and were they are in the library?

The thumbnails are Windows user specific. They must always be synchronized with the library files.

If only one Windows user accesses the MC library and the thumbnail files at a time you can use a common thumbnail location.

You can change the default location in Windows Registry (on both OS instances).

BUT if you change the location, it can't be called Thumbnails...  Must be something else.

now that works nicely. i saved it at D:\CeeDeesDb\Thumbs . i rebuilded all thumbnails in one boot. the other boot had them imidiatly. very nice.
