Podcast files retagging
« on: January 10, 2007, 09:06:36 am »

MC12.139: I've downloaded a few episodes from a podcast site, then I've marked them as permanent (keep them forever), then I've retagged them, retagging also the track number.
I thought that at that point those files would stay stable until I decided to do anything on them. Instead, every time I visit that feed, "my" files track numbers are aligned with the track numbers in the feed.... this happens only in the library, because the file tags keep my changes.
Since all the other tags are kept as I had modified them, I'm asking if the track number tag behaviour is different from the others by design or if it's a bug.
If it is so by design is there any way to circumvent the problem or not?
Thanks for an answer.

I have observed the same behavior and I think MC should not modify the podcast track tag after I have edited it.

I ran into a situation where the podcast source made an error in their track # tag and I wanted to correct it.

I've found no solution for thr retagging problem. I agree that MC should leave the changed tag as it is
