Why are Playlist tracks added additionally to albums?
« on: October 17, 2008, 12:57:31 pm »

I have added my playlist folder on my Hard Drive to auto-import and have noticed now that after auto-import took place, MC adds all the playlist tracks again to the original albums. For instance the track MY IMMORTAL by EVANESENCE now shows up twice in MC on that EVANESENCE album. When I place my mouse cursor on the track I can see the file path points to the correct album folder and the file path of the "duplicate" or playlist track points to my playlist folder.

I have never had this before as usually my playlists are simply showing up in the imported playlist tree only. I find it quite confusing to now always have such tracks showing up twice under artists/albums in the MC library and would like to know if there is perhaps a setting that will not add such playlist tracks again to the actual artist's album additionally.

Has this maybe something to do with the auto-import?

Any ideas or tips?

I just ran into this problem myself.
Backup you database before you do this!

I created a smartlist from all my media, then added the modifier "Only Duplicates of" "Filename" and "Remove Duplicates of" "filename".
Apply the changes, select the smartlist.
Then select all the files from the list and delete them from the database.
