There is a problem that seems to have crept in between 11 and 14. When playing a Winamp stream through MC the track name does not get entered into the name field. This is a huge problem for people using Netremote as the track name will not be available to the Netremote client. I presume there is an API that Promixis uses for MC to control and get information from MC and that since the track name is fine for local media being played this appears to be a problem introduced by MC itself.

I have tried the latest version 15 and it still has the problem. For this reason I don't see many of us Netremote users upgrading from version 11 anytime soon.

Can we get a MC developer to respond please? This problem has been mentioned almost a year ago.

I noticed the same problem with my setup using Netremote. I also did some testing with a new home automation software that is going to be released Elve and the same problem .... when playing a stream it doesn't show the Track info. I also tried using MC Media Server to see the track info but that doesn't seem to work either.

No offense but how does that fix a problem when using Netremote? My Netremote skin is used for my entire home automation system including light control, security, cameras, weather, caller log, ect so I am not looking for some other GUI front-end for MC but rather have MC fixed.

In build 15.0.25 and later, hopefully available later this week:
Changed: SDK requests for artist, album, and name for the file playing in the active zone will return the playback-time-only values like web radio song titles, etc. (useful for NetRemote)

Hello, I am the author of the MC driver for Elve and am interested in the fix/enhancement.  Several users inquiring about this. Using version 13 I see that the title is "HTTP Stream" and the Artist, Album, and Genre properties are blank.

The Elve driver uses the COM object but I believe that there is a new and improved tcp connection that can be used?

Does the change made to MC apply to the COM object and/or the tcp connection?

The changes apply to the COM object.

The web service (MCWS) also exposes playback-time metadata using:

I downloaded 15.0.28 the other day and now I am able to see the artist & song information but it seems to be all just one piece of information. Is there anyway to separate the artist from the song. What is happening now for example is U2-Staring at the Sun is showing for the song title. Is there a way to get it so Artist name and song title get sent separate?
