Aux input as an Audio Source
« on: August 26, 2010, 06:26:16 pm »

I would like to request that in future releases we are able to use the line or aux input on our soundcards as an audio source for JRiver to output to our selected zones.  This would be a very nice addition to the software, and its the only thing I have "missed" so far.

A lot of times I have people come over with their own ipods or iphones and they have a playlist all set up they want to use.  It would be nice to hook that up to the line in and be able to send it to one or all of my zones.

I would also like to be able to play internet audio through specific zones (this may already be possible).

Let me know what you think.

Thanks

This has been requested a bit, and is something we're considering.

The trick will be dealing with latency, since our audio engine is accustomed to having several seconds of pre-buffered audio.

Any work on this front would likely be for a future version (i.e. v16).

Gotcha,

I really hope this is something you guys implement (even if it is for a future release)...  :-\

Thanks for the response
