Not able to set Audio Playback Device for Video
« on: December 27, 2011, 01:04:59 pm »

Hi,

since Build 58 I do not see the option to define a separate audio playback device for videos anymore.

This was in Options-->Video-->Advanced. I use my soundcard for playing music and my graphics card via hdmi for picture and sound for movies and tv shows. With this option gone I can't play videos anymore because it gives me an audio output error anytime I try to launch a movie.  :(

I have reinstalled build 50 and everything works fine again. Could this be fixed in one of the future builds?

Thanks
Klaus

This changed in 17.0.52:

2. Changed: Custom audio output selection for video playback requires using Custom video mode.

To use you go to Tools > Options > Video > and set Video Mode to Advanced - Custom. Then click "Custom Video mode settings" and select either Red October or Red October HQ. Add a rule and set the type to Audio Renderer. Now select your audio renderer.

Great - this worked.
Didn't notice that when reading the changelog

Thanks a lot
