Windows 8 Volume OSD
« on: January 03, 2013, 08:41:24 pm »

Is it possible to enable the default Windows 8 volume display that normally shows up when you use the volume hot keys? I've toyed around with all of the volume settings and nothing seems to work. Basically, I want to have it behave like the "system" setting but with that black and blue box that pops up. If MC18 is running, that display doesn't pop up at all and I prefer that it does.

Thanks!

If you switch Options > General > Advanced > Media key mode to 'App commands', it will suppress hot key handling which is what catches volume on Windows 8.

Or you could switch the volume mode in Media Center to do what you want, so that it catching the volume would be fine.

Excellent, that did the trick. I like having JRiver's volume bound to the system volume but it's great having the display pop up as a reference for those times that JRiver isn't the active window.

Thanks a lot for the help!
