Streaming multi-channel (5.1) music
« on: January 21, 2013, 05:32:29 pm »

I am unable to stream 5.1 music to my Oppo 105.  The 105 accepts 5.1 streams from other media players but only 2 channels with JRiver.  Is there a setting I need to address?  Any advice as to how I should proceed?

Thanks

Are you using DLNA to play to it?  Can you give us more details?

Indeed I have set JRiver to be a DNLA server.  JRiver shows up on the Oppo as a DNLA device.  The music is recorded in 5.1 Flac and currently streams via Twonky Media Player in the original 5.1 format.  I am interested in JRiver because of itsoverall superior capabilities.

MC may be converting to another format.  Check the settings.  Media Network/Add or Configure DLNA Servers.

I have checked Media Network.  All the DNLA settings are checked.  In the audio conversion settings, Convert audio if necessary is checked.  Is there is setting that instructs the JRiver to convert all audio to stereo?

Try setting it not to convert.

18.0.106.  Appreciate your help.  I am using the trial version.  If we can resolve, I plan to purchase.
