How do I get rid of Database Read Only?
« on: September 23, 2013, 09:02:20 pm »

I had to force quit my MC and now when ever I start it say its being opened Database read only mode and that no changes will be saved when I exit. Is there any way to turn this back off?

I assume you have already re booted your Mac (probably multiple times)? Are the files on your local disk?

Try this.  Quit MC.

Remove the file:

   /Users/your user name/Library/Application Support/J River/Media Center 18/Library/lock.jmd

Start MC.

Hi,
I'm having the same issue with MC19.  The problem just started.  I have been using .88 since it was released.  The problem didn't occur until 2 days ago and I use the system daily.  I can't find the file indicated by Mr.C anywhere on my Mac.  (/Users/your user name/Library/Application Support/J River/Media Center 18/Library/lock.jmd).

OS 10.7.5   2007 IMac  JRiver 19.88    Synology DS411 (this is set at read/write)

At the same time as the above problem my Album Art began disappearing.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Fred

Since you are using MC19, the path would be:

      /Users/your user name/Library/Application Support/J River/Media Center 19/Library/lock.jmd

Be sure to set your user name appropriately.
