1. Changed: More tweaks to video clock synchronization logic (to hopefully fix slow motion playback of TV recordings).

20.0.19 (9/30/2014)

If you've experienced crashes enabling 2D visualizations, please test this build and let us know your results.

Thanks.

2. Changed: Another try at driver building.
Well it did install this time (unlike build 35) and did not set itself as the default device.

It's still set to 16/44 by default though, and only seems to support 2 channel inputs now. (not that I had tried 5.1)

Matt,

This is improvement for me on visualizations. Looks like I can now enable any 2D visualization with no Crash; with the exception of Milk Drop 2. Selecting that causes crash.

Since updating to this version I am getting a lot of "Pops" and Clicks" during playback that I have never experienced with any previous version of Media Center. My setup is exactly the same:

JRiver set to SPDIF Wasapi -> Optical out-> Optical in to Bifrost Uber DAC -> RCA cables to Valhalla 2.

None of my settings have change in Media Center, everything is exactly as it always was so I am at a loss why all-of-a-sudden I am getting these "pops and clicks" during playback. Like I said this has never occured before with any previous version of Media Center and none of my settings have changed in Media Center.

I did do some research on DAC setups etc., but none of that applies to me. My DAC is not USB, I have tried different Optical cables, I have changed buffering, tried all of the troubleshooting methods I could find in the forums here so I am at a loss. This has only occurred with this latest release and nothing in my settings or hardware setup has changed.

Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

P.S. Not sure if this is the correct thread to post this in, so I will post it in another thread as well. Feel free to delete the thread if it is in the wrong place.

Thank you and any and all suggestions are most welcomed, I really want to solve this issue.

I can't configure the channelcount of the WDM Device anymore, so it's fixed at 2Ch.

I wonder if Milk Drop 2 just always crashes?  Is vis_milk2.dll the crashing module?

In the latest versions (currently running 20.0.33) I have noticed that some albums have duplicate entries for tracks:

As you can see in the filename column adds a ;(number) after the filename!?

I tried reverting back to MediaCenter200025 and that solved the problem.

What bugs?

The Milkdrop in program configurations are not saved and detaching the window and moving it around or re-attching it has caused me lockups.

And some others from the Milkdrop thread

"is anyone else running this in Theater View, and if so, are you experiencing focus issues when exiting Milkdrop?" "Yes, I'm running it in Theater view and yes I have focus issues! This will get fixed. "

"Matt says: "I'm getting a crash in it when I switch visuals (we load each plugin to ask it about modes)."

All in all it works well.

I'm getting this on all of my installs too.

Fixing it is a major hassle (though not as bad as the still-annoying Tags Shown in Current View ridiculousness).  Is there anything I can do to "refresh" it aside from this tiresome dance?  I have to replicate it across a bunch of computers.

Indeed, can't configure the number of channels anymore in the new WDM driver. Is this intended? I did use 5.1 a lot (mostly, in fact) and it was great.

I can just downgrade for now although I'm not even sure which version I should go back to - I jumped from .30 to .37.

Syncing files to a handheld device is a problem. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4.

1. When connecting it to my PC via USB, MC claims that there is no handheld available until I enter my phone's USB settings, switch it to PTP, and then switch it back to MTP. I don't know why it doesn't just recognise it when it's set to MTP in the first place.

2. I cannot sync files that have the same Artist, Album, and Name. Disc #'s and other (custom) fields are ignored completely. Would it be possible to just remove the restrictions altogether? It's really annoying when I have to download an app on my phone that allows it to be recognised by my PC as a USB mass storage device and transfer the "duplicate" files via Windows Explorer instead.

3. MC no longer completes the syncing process. It might sync one or two files successfully, but then it hangs and never goes anywhere, with the estimated time of completion steadily rising.

EDIT: I apologise for my tone before; I was frustrated with this and a few other things when I wrote it.

Boy, that should be fixed.

Can you try a few times and let us know if it works one of the times?

Also, can you confirm you're testing 20.0.37?

Thanks.

Hi,

I don't know if this is a bug or normal behavior, when i do i search in the search box for albums and delete a file the search gets reset.

Steps to reproduce

1. Select Albums
2. Search (Crtl+F)
3. Do a search for an album
4. Click on results to show files
5. Delete one of the files (Delete and send to recycle bin)

This causes MC to reset the results, meaning if you want to delete more songs with the search result you have to start with step one.

It's not resetting the search for me when I erase out of the 'Recent Albums' view.  I'm only erasing one track so the album remains.  If the entire album is erased, we might reset the search (since it'd be worthless anyway).

Ah i see, it makes sense now, i am in the process of deleting duplicates using the search and it is just a bit annoying that it keeps resetting the search after i delete a file, so i have to constantly retype what i am searching for.

Media Center 20.0.37 will not shuffle or remove duplicates on large playlists (800 songs), media center freezes and hangs up. On smaller playlists (40 or so songs) everything works fine. Never had this problem on earlier versions. Any suggestions ?
