Migrating to a New server
« on: July 14, 2004, 03:21:50 pm »

We are planning to migrate to a new server which will have a new name and IP address as oppose to the old server where the TCP5_User folder was residing.  By doing this, will it effect the licensing scheme in anyway?  Will we have to run Configwizard on each pc again?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Migrating to a New server

Once you have a sequence number, you don't need to run configwizard again so moving the server will have no effect unless you have to add a client. Be sure to delete the old licenseadmin server!

Note that the links to configwizard on the existing clients will be incorrect after the move. In that situation, if you need to rerun configwizard for some reason, you can BROWSE to the configwizard on the new server.

See other posts in this forum for more detail on BROWSING to the appropriate configwizard.
