I am trying to install icdlpd on a linux server.  I received the CD and started the installation of the linux icelpd printing and ran into a problem. There was only 1 page for installing the  icelpd.cups printing, and I was at the point of adding the printer in  /etc/cups/printers.conf file and restarted cups.  This worked but the instructions ended here.
Do you still use the icelpd on the PC side. There is no instructions on what do to after this point.  Can you help me or please point me in the direction of where to get help.

Yes, you need to still setup ICELP on the Windows side. If you had it previously installed on the PC for SCO then you will just need to change the configuration to match the new linux machine (ip address and printer name).

It would probably help to send a test job on the linux machine so that the spool directory gets created before you run icelp on the PC.

i.e.

cat test | lpr -Pbob

replace bob with the printer name you created

Next start icelp on the PC. You should be set.

What do you need to put in the Unix spooler directory box?

/usr/tmp

[owbf]

I did all this and am not getting the printer name nor the icelp_jobs directories set up. Any help would be appreciated.

Just a note,
This problem turned out to be a full /var filesystem (where the jobs were being created).

Tom, you might want to re-comment out those echo lines in the backend icelpd script to disable the debugging log.
