Memory Errors
« on: January 27, 2005, 04:02:10 pm »

I just purchased TCP-PLUS and it came with build 25.  I am using it with a document imaging product where I constantly copy the data to the clipboard.  I do this by going to the Menu and selecting Edit --> Copy.  After I do this many times in a row I get a windows memory error "Memory could not be read at address......" and it crashes.

I have used the TCP-PRO version and I don't run into this problem.  I also have other customers, who are running plus that don't experience this problem, however they are on a different build (not sure which one).

Has anyone run accross this, or have any suggestions?  It does seem better after a reboot.

I'm running WinXP Service pack 2.

Thanks,
Nate

What terminal type (and number of lines)?
Are you using telnet or SSH??

I am running WYSE60, telnet with a 25 line screen.  I checked multiple machines and they have the same problem, granted they are all identical hardware and OS's.

Hmmm, I can't seem to duplicate the problem.
Are you simply doing edit->copy which does the whole screen?
Then pasting it into an app or just leaving it on the clipboard?

I did it twenty times without a problem. Wyse60 25 lines (though you should really use 24) connected via telnet to SCO OS 5.06

Maybe you should try 24 lines. Most Unixes expect wyse60 to be 24 lines, if an app needs the 25th line it explicitly turns it on.

I am getting the same error with ICE.TCP Plus Build 25 when they try to print screen to an Okidata LED printer on the network. I have 2 identical PC's getting this error, they are running XP Pro SP2. Anyone have any ideas on this?

What printing method (File->Local print setup).
If using normal (neither raster or direct) you could try raster print. Your printer may be a winprinter.
