Telnet -Pro
« on: January 13, 2006, 12:26:56 pm »

Hello

I'm the new IT manager at Sun and most user no longer have Telnet-Pro on their machines. We are upgrading most machines to XP pro and when I did this particular PC, Telent- Pro no longer connects. Tells me to run the confiuration wizard. There isn'ta configuration wizard as we also just upgraded to Win2003 from NT. I'm assuming ICE was installed over the network which means the installation files on the server no longer exsit. How do I do  typical user istall from the PC. to install only telnet pro?

You have to have a licenseadmin server installation somewhere to be able to run configwizard and get a sequence number. If this machine is the ONLY one running PRO you can put the server install on there. If there are other PC's running PRO you will have to pick a machine (it can be any machine that shares files, not necessarily a windows "server) to put the licenseadmin onto. You will then need to run licenseadmin, install your license(s) and rerun configwizard on each PC by BROWSING to the share TCP5_USER (must be world writable) on the new licenseadmin server. See the numerous other posts here for more details.
