Hello,

I have a customer that is having some problems with Ice TCP Pro.  Since I don't know much about the product at all, I figured this would be a good place to start!!

This problem also deals with another product we sell, BBx, from Basis International.  I'll copy the email the customer said instead of trying to paraphrase it:

I want to use more than 80 characters wide for a specific application. I am using PRO5 on an SCO Unix server and Ice TCP Pro in ansi emulation on PCs. I also use ICE OffSite in wy60 emulation to communicate with the Unix server by modem. I modified the program to issue the proper escape sequence to set the emulator to 132 columns (based on the emulation), I also issue a PRO5  'WINDOW'(0,0,132,24) and 'CP' commands and everything works fine with ICE OffSite but under ICE TCP Pro the screen will change to 132 colums and condensed print but it will not display pass 80 columns. ICE TCP Pro is 5.0.67

Could this be an issue with your product?

That is a really old version so it could be possibly a problem with the program.
I would suggest they get an update to a current version. Note that they will have to update their licenseadmin server with the new version as well as the pro client because versions older than 5.0.81 are incompatible with newer versions. There is a post near the top of this forum that deals with updating the liceseadmin server.

Usually the Unix environment has to be set to do 132 columns as well. An stty -a should show if this has changed or not. TCP/IP shell connections seem pay more attention to the column settings that serial shell connections.
