"Unknown" error
« on: October 03, 2006, 10:13:47 am »

1. Installed Terminal Server/Citrix on a PC running Windows 2003 Server
2. Added the client licenses
3. Did a client install on each workstation which is running Windows 2000 Professional

I opened up Telnet Pro and then immediately closed it using the standard Windows X button. I did this repeatedly but on each 4th attempt the Telnet Pro displayed an empty white screen and eventually came back with the "Unknown" error window
I then clicked OK to that window and simply got the blank, white screen.
I clicked on "Hosts" and double clicked the selected host and it then connected.

Excuse the pun but is this "Unknown" error known about?

Any info the tekkies can provide would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Our technicians were not able to duplicate this.  Is your version of caldera unix  for unlimited users or not?

Also, on each of the previous 4 attempts were you trying to connect to a host (using autoconnect/autologin) or just opening and closing the TelnetPro app??

What version of PRO? There were some autoconnect issues in versions older than the current.

We finally got to the bottom of this.

On each PC we had installed TelnetPro, we then renamed the PC. Because of reverse DNS lookup and the fact it doesnt flush its table that quickly this appeared to cause the problems.

By manually deleting the old DNS references TelnetPro worked each and every time...1st time

Hope this has helps with any past or future problems people may have.
