DejaWin display help
« on: May 01, 2007, 09:47:59 am »

My client has DejaVu TCP Plus for Windows build 21 Windows inerface version 8.

Parts of the screen will not display on one PC.  I have compaired the settings to a working machine and have even replaced the icetcpplus.ini file with a working PC.  It looks like in some places the fonts are higlighted with the same color as the font and backgroud.  I am at a loss at this point and any help is appreciated.

It sounds like a windows display driver bug. Check for an updated windows display driver and check the color depth for the display in display settings (try to make it the same as the machine that works).

Also, make sure the user login on the Unix machine is not setting a different terminal type on the pc that doesn't work VS the one that does.

Finally you may need an upgrade. You can download the current PLUS trialware from http://www.icetcp.com and see if that solves your problem. The trialware is good for 30 days and can coexist with you existing production version on the same machine.

Thanks Bob.  We figured it out, well kind of.   ???  The emulation of the server was set to Wise50 and the clients of course were Wise60.  What is odd is the other 30 PCs in the office were fine using Wise60 on the client and Wise50 on the server.  Who know why this one PC would not work like the rest of them.  Maybe a combination of display driver and emulation?  Does not matter it is working now.   :D  Thanks for the help and quick reply.  It is very refreshing to have a software forum that actually gets answered by someone.

There are serveral ways a unix machine can override the default terminal setting (which is normally part of the telnet option negotiation). It can be in a users profile, or in a ttytype file for example. Sometimes it's hard to track this down.
