Printing - Part of right side cut off
« on: July 20, 2007, 09:58:10 am »

Software Version: ICE/TCP Pro 5.1
Operating System: Windows XP Pro
Monitor Resolution: 1024x768
Terminal Emulation: VT102
Printer: HP LaserJet
Print Method: Raster
Connecting to: Unix box w/VT100 emulation

The above settings work fine on Windows 2000 desktops and laptops and Windows XP laptops, however we just got a bunch of new Windows XP desktops, and for some reason, when printing only, one digit in the hundredths position in an account balance is cut off.

We had this problem on the older machines, and it ended up just being the font. We changed the font to ICE 437, and it had worked fine.

We tested a bunch of fonts on this new system...Courier is out of the question, we loose more characters off the right side. Every other font included acts the same...1 character is dropped off. We also tested by changing the monitor resolution to 800x600, but that had no affect.

We need this to show that one extra character, as it is the hundredths digit in an account balance column.

Example:
1234.5     <Should be: 1234.56>

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Just bump up the horizontal divisor a bit. Try 85 or so. This seems to be a bug in the information returned by the print driver. We ask the print driver how wide the page is in pixels and divide it by 80 to get a divisor. If you change it to 85 it will make the characters slightly smaller.

Bob...

I went ahead and added those registry settings, then reopened ICE.TCP Pro, test printed, and voila! It printed the whole screen.

Any chance those registry settings and/or the option to change them within the program could be added to the settings panel?

That would be REALLLLY slick!

Thanks for all your help,

Rick

Just go into regedit and export that key. You can take it to another machine and just double-click on it to get the settings into it's registry.
