I have found that when I install build 27 I have a problem printing to my local windows printer. The spooler bombs and I have to re-boot to fix it. I can still print to network printers with build 27. I reverted to an earlier build and the issue went away.

Some things to try.

1) Use a different printing method (in local print setup). Default is "normal". If the printer is connected directly to the machine, try direct. Otherwise try raster.

2) Someone reported a problem when the local printer had spaces in the name. Try to rename the printer so it doesn't have spaces.

Report your results please.

I removed build 27 and installed build 22 and the issues went away. I am currently testing your suggestions with build 27 and will report back.

Ok here are the results with build 27 and a Lexmark x5270 connected locally via USB.

3. Raster works but the printout is spread out on the page wider then normal.

Also, one other issue with build 27. I run a blue background and a white foreground and find that the bottom line turns black and does not display anything. This happens in both Wyse60 and ANSI.

The lexmark is a winprinter. You can only choose raster printing for it. If you need to adjust the spacing (it appears the printer is reporting the page width incorrectly) see this post:

If you increase the size of the HorizontalPrintableChars to something more than 80, say 90 it will print the characters smaller. It's easy to export these registry entries if you need to do it on more than one computer. The raster print driver emulates a standard lineprinter. If your Unix application gives you a choice of printer drivers you should choose a lineprinter driver.

This should solve your issues.

Why is it that build 22 works without selecting raster?

I can only speculate since I can't reproduce the problem here but I suspect it might have something to do with the fact that the older version is dynamically linked with mfc42.dll instead of statically linked like the new one. What exact version of windows is this on??

Also, I forgot to answer you about the blank line at the bottom of the screen. If you are in wyse60 or ansi mode and are set to 24 lines the bottom line is a status line which has a separately settable color attribute. This will depend on how you are setting colors. First I'd check to make sure the number of lines is the same as in the old version.

I'll see if the person who makes the builds can do a dynamically linked build 27 so we can test this out. It may be a few days however, we are pretty backed up on this end...

Since that didn't work, we'll check into another couple of possibilities. It's really still most likely to be the print driver but I'll probably have another version for you to test Thursday or Friday. It sure would be nice if we could reproduce this..
