Unable to Print.
« on: January 08, 2009, 12:57:49 pm »

Using the ICE TCP Plus for windows: build 27.

I am unable to print using a new printer.

The printer is a HP laserjet 1505 (local printer)  connected to my local machine by USB cable.   I am unable to print screens, reports, etc.

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

If it's not the 1505n you MUST use raster printing. Check the local print setup.

Bob,

Thank you for the reply.

It is not the 1505n.  If  I understand correctly:  Go into Local Print Setup off the file menu and click the option for Raster Printing?     That is it?

Correct! Choose raster printing and reselect the print from the pull down box.

Note that if you are using anything other than local print (like ICELP) you will need the current version to get raster printing.

Bob,

Incredibly helpful,  I cant thank you enough.   One more question though.

How can I get the output to print in Landscape vs. Portrait.

Thank you

I don't know that you can make it landscape print. You could try setting the defaults in the printer configuration under control panel->printers.

If you are just trying to print condensed print and you are printing from unix, you should just specify that you are using a line printer. The raster print driver emulates a standard line printer.

If you can't do that you can manually set the print character size. Check this thread.

Bob,

Good afternoon.  I have encountered another problem with a Samsung CLP - 315 series printer.  The printer is hooked up locally to a machine by USB port.  I assume it is a low end printer b/c of the cost.   When trying to print reports generated by our system the font and layout are incorrect.  The font is way to large and layout does not print in landscape.   I noticed right away the escape sequences printing on the top left hand corner of the page.   Do you have any input as to where in the Deja Win I can make the printer emulate a standard laserjet printer?   Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Unfortunately the raster driver can ONLY emulate a lineprinter.
