IP will work, Host name will not
« on: July 30, 2009, 11:50:26 am »

I have installed TCP Pro on a "new" PC. Licensed successfully. Imported the reg profile from working PC and Hosts list will not connect to server. If I type the server's IP address it connects.

If it was from a working PC and the host list box works fine (comes in from the left when you run TelnetPro) then the problem is likely to be DNS resolution on that particular PC. You can test this by trying to ping the unix box by name at a command prompt (dos box).

Compare the dns settings from a working PC to the one that doesn't work (right click on the network adapter, do properties, look at tcp/ip properties, check dns settings, default domain, advanced setting, etc).
