Title: ice ten communication with a dell laptop
Post by: baystaylor on March 03, 2008, 02:14:59 pm
I have a dell latitude laptop with a conexant modem trying to connect to a us robotics sportster external modem.  Dial up ok but will not connect at 19200 regardless of ice ten configuration.  Currently using init string ats37=13%c0dtnnnnnnn which works on my ibm laptop.  Ice v4.7 emulation 7.10a/32  win int 7.1.1

You are having trouble with the sync between the modems. Nearly all unix modems are misconfigured to run at 9600 baud with an autobauding interface between the modem and unix. The best way to run modems is speed locked on both sides with hardware handshaking and at least 38.4 kbaud preferably 57.6k or higher.
