Title: Unable to use firewall(s)
Post by: Sheldon on October 27, 2004, 09:41:40 am
Ice.TCP.PLUS works fine with McAfee and ZoneAlarms Firewalls and Win 98SE. The only way we can use Ice.TCP.PLUS on machines with Win2000 and XP is to turn off the firewall. Any attempt to use Ice.TCP.PLUS with Win2000 or XP and a firewall installed results in a Winsock error.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Does Microsoft telnet work (Start -> Run  type in telnet and the ip address of the host and hit enter). Check to see that your firewall allows OUTGOING connects on port 23 (or 22 if you are using ssh).
