When files are transferred from unix to windows the date of the files in the windows explorer is wrong i.e. 26-10-2003 instead of 26-10-2004 for a file that is transferred today

One of the clocks is off (the PC or the Unix Machine). If you set them to the right time the problem should go away. It's most likely in this case that the clock on the unix machine is behind the one on the windows machine.

The clocks on both computers have the same time. The problem is on the screen displayed by FTP pro of the unix directory. When the files are arranged by date a file on the unix computer that is made today 27-10-2004 is not the first in the listing. This file is on the screen betweeen the files from oktober 2003. When I transfer a file from yesterday or earlier to windows the date is right; the problem is with files of today.

What version of PLUS are you running? It should be on the CD label.

There is no version number on the cd of ICETCP-PLUS.

I think the problem is a bug in FTPPro.
I have made a file in unix 12-05-2005 09.00
Local time is GMT+2 (GMT+1 and 1h DST) GMT at that moment is 07.00
In the left pane of FTPPro the year is 2004. When the file is copied to windows the year is 2004.
After 2 hours, when the GMT reaches the time of the file 09.00 the year in the left pane changes from 2004 in 2005. Copying the file to the windows computer gives then the year 2005.
When there is no DST the local time is GMT+1.
Then already after 1 hour the year 2005 is displayed

I've tried every way possible to duplicate this without success. I've also read the ftp spec and tried different tests to try to track this down. I even set my unix clock ahead a couple of hours so that the file created on the Unix side is in the PC's future but it STILL gets the date right on transfer.
Now the only way that date can be set from my reading of the spec is from the date in the file list that the ftp server sends.
Please try the following and report back the results:
Make a file that will show the problem on the unix machine.
Use ftp pro to connect. Show the detailed listing. Note the file date and time.
Use the windows command line ftp clent to do the same thing and note the file date and time.
Transfer the file and right-click properties to show the date and time.
What version of ftp server are you using on sco? (use command line client to find out).
I'm thinking that the server listing will show the wrong data and time.

I don't think that the problem is in the unix-server because:
1. The unix-server and the windows client have the same timezone CETDST (= GMT+2)
On the unix-server when the creation of the file is in the year 2005 and is less then 6 months old the year is not displayed in the directory.
2. With another ftp-program like WS FTP the right year 2005 is displayed

If the command line client shows the wrong data/time at any point (which you said it did in your last email) the server is broken for sure.

I didn't write that the commandline ftp client showed wrong data or time.
You can see on the screenprints I send you by email that ftppro displays the wrong year 2004 and after 2 hours the year changes to 2005.
The display of the commandline ftp client doesn't change after 2 hours.

Could you try turning off the (convert future file dates) option in "advanced" settings and see if that helps? It appears there may be a flaw in the logic there dealing with timezones >GMT. Let us know the results please.

When the option 'convert future file dates' is turned off the year is still 2004.
There is no difference between option on or off.

You did retransfer the file, right??
And what is the TZ variable in your unix /etc/TIMEZONE file set to?
(or just echo $TZ at a unix prompt)

$TZ gives: CET-1CETDST,M3.5.0/1,M10.5.0/1
file is transferred from unix to windows and then retransferred to unix.
on the FTPPro pane for the unix site the first moment the year is 2005 and the time has changed to the time of the ftransfer.
After F5 (refresh) the year is 2004 again.
