Title: DejaVu ICE Plus in windows XP
Post by: BinkyABT on July 22, 2004, 01:00:59 pm
Is ICE Plus the same as DejaVu TCP Plus for WIndows?

We just upgraded all our PCs from Win 98 to Win XP Pro and we have a problem printing from the program that we access through DejaVu ICE.  We have to set the address/DNS in TCP/IP protocol on each PC in order to print.

When we do that (as opposed to letting Windows automatically choose) we loose the ability to browse the internet.  We have one DSL connection that is shared across the network.  We can't check/send emails.  Our antivirus doesn't update.  Anything that requires internet access won't work.

Is there anything we can do, so we don't have to keep changing the protocols?

I forgot the version infor:
Build 21
Emulation Version 7.10a/32
Windows Interface 8.0

The program we access is running on a Linux machine with something called Konqueror.

How are you doing the printing? With IceLP, LPD or passthrough printing?
IceLP should work fine with dynamic addresses. Only the Unix server needs a fixed address for IceLP. LPD requires a static address on the client PC. passthrough print should work regardless.

I don't know anything about the type of printing.
