At some point my TCp Pro quit working. When attempting to use Telnet PRO to connect to a server, I receive the following errors:
Connection Error, Can't create CAquiarius class window.
After clicking "OK", I get this message
Can nor create new session. Please run ConfigWizard.
I tried running ConfigWizard, and it completes successfully. But I still get the same error when trying to run TelnotPro.
I have reinstalled the Telnet Pro application. again the isntall completes with no errros, but I still get the CAquiarius error when trying to run the app.

Try using microsoft telnet to connect, report back results.
(start->run type in telnet and the name or ip address (as it appears in pro) and hit enter)
-
If ms telnet works, I'm assuming the problem is that you can't read/write your sequence number from the registry. Are you logging in defferently than before (like domain login instead of machine login)?
When you run configwizard, you are not running a REALLY old one are you??
If nothing else works, try the following:
Your sequence number is stored in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->J.River folder.
See this post:
http://yabb.jriver.com/ice/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=210
For instructions on how to remove this registry entry and then rerun configwizard.
-
Sequence number is reported in registry correctly under HKLM\Software\J. RIVER\ICE.TCP\5.0\License\TempUserID (sequence #32)
-
I can't seem to follow the thread you provide there for isntructions on removing the reg entry.
Also, the forum columns do not sort correctly. Looks like an index problem on the database.??
-
Sorry,
Looks like the URL got chopped when I c&p'd it. Try the link again.
Also, the forum works fine on all the browsers I try, I'm not sure what you are seeing...
-
Did I mention that this machine is also the license server? The first section of the link above says DO NOT delete these entries on a license server.
Also, when trying to sort the respective columns on the forum in ascending or descending order, they are not sorting correctly in ascending and descending order. This makes it very difficult to search/locate a particular thread.
-
Right, don't delete the entries if the machine is a license server, just open up the permissions as detailed and rerun configwizard.
I'm mystified about your forum comments. If I sort by "last post" in date order, after the stickies, I get the newest posts first....
-
I have performed the suggested operations on the permissions. No change in problem at this point.
Still unable ot use TCP-PRO.
-
I added the userid suggested, and peformed the operations on permissions in the advanced section.
I have also uninstalled TCP_Pro and reinstalled to no avail.
-
Did you try MS telnet as I suggested?
-
MS Telnet works as do other Term emulators.
-
I'm REALLY not sure what is going on in your case but let's clean the whole thing out and start fresh.
Make a copy of your license folder onto a floppy (TCP5_USER->Licenses)
Throw away everything in Program Files->Jriver
In the registry, remove the J.River folders under HKLM->Software and HKCU->Software (resetting the permissions as described in http://yabb.jriver.com/ice/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=210 if necessary)
Reinstall the PRO Server portion. (you might want to get the current version, it's a little newer than your version). Don't run licenseadmin or do a user install.
Copy the license folder back from floppy to TCP5_USER
Make sure TCP5_USER is shared full control for everyone if you are going to do network installs.
Run TCP5_USER->Setup.exe to reinstall the user portion on that machine. It will automatically find the licenses when you get to configwizard. Don't forget to put in a user name AND comment. If you can't get a license from configwizard, check licenseadmin in Start->All Programs->ICE.TCP admin to see if you have any users left.
You should be back up and running now...

Got through that error message, and completed the server install.
Copied license directory to new install.
Ran user setup, and registered with license server.
And TCP Pro is now working again!!
-
Yeah!
Good work...
