Title: configuration wizard problem
Post by: dbjay on August 07, 2005, 04:06:49 pm
We had a problem w/ a WinXP/SP1 PC using ICE.TCP Pro v. 5.1.07 and ended up reinstalling a number of apps including ICE.TCP. After cleaning out the license from the admin PC I ran the config wizard but was told seq. # was disabled because I needed to have administrative permissions. I was logged on as a Domain Admin which is also set up as a local admin for both the client and the server PCs. We tried uninstalling and reinstalling again, but still no luck.

Note - In exploring the registry to see if the uninstall removed everything, I discovered inaccessible keys:
1. "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\J. River\ICE.TCP\5.0\License"
2. "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\J. River\ICE.TCP\5.0\LPD"
They can't be viewed (or deleted!)

You need to delete them before configwizard will work. See the instructions concerning this when one has accidently installed a version <5.0.81 on XP.
