Title: ICE TCP 4.4 on XP -display blanking
Post by: guygo on September 11, 2005, 07:23:49 pm
Running deja vu from TCP 4.4, emulation 7.10a/32 .on a Laptop Latitude 505 with Windows XP with SP2 installed.  Open two sessions to host and all looks good. Two windows screens open up and autologin to unix host and application displays in each window.   Open third session to host and application display in window of first session blanks.  Delete first session window and  open up fourth session to host and application  display in second session goes blank.
The window session exists but the application display dissappears. Dont have problem opening sessions. Just the displayed font in the first initiated session disappears when more than two sessions opened.
No issues with loss of display when opening multiple windows of other programs.
No issues with loss of display when doing same test on other PC's.
This seems a Windows issue- but what would inhibit Jriver dejawnt display from appearing. in one session and not another?  What XP or jriver setting change could be made to vary the issue and perhaps flush out reason.?

What happens if you go back to the first screen and do
edit->repaint ??

The 4.4 screen are special primary screens. If they act differently on your laptop I suspect a video driver bug.

You could try the 5.1 client or look for a video driver update for your laptop. Sometimes changing the screen color depth can change things as well.
