Title: jriver registry folder
Post by: jann on December 22, 2005, 04:47:29 pm
We are running ICE.TCP Pro 5.1.19. I'm having a similar issue as jlong44 on 12/2/05, with the "Failed to save string in registry" when entering the host in Telnet Pro. Also, I get a "there was an error reading the profile you specified" in Config Wizard when I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

I tried to delete the HKCU->Software->J.River registry folder as suggested. It worked on one PC, but on the other PC it won't allow me to delete it. However, it did let me delete the HKLM->Software->J.River registry folder.

I checked the permissions, and the user who is logged on has full control and is an administrator on the local PC.

Which means you must have been a different user or logged into or not logged into a domain before.

You will have to open up the permissions so you can either delete the HKCU->Software->J.River key or open it up enough to use it for the current admin.

It's similar to this:
