Title: file transfer

i am not able to use the file transfer on a off site location, i am entering the ip or host address i use to login to the server any suggestions

If you can to file transfers on site but can't FTP off site to the same host using the same login would most likely mean the host as been configured, or a firewall exists to specifically deny FTP to/from the outside. This is a very common security measure. Check with your network administrator on whether this is the case and whether they can make a configuration to allow FTP for just your offsite computer.
