Title: Long Initialization Strings
Post by: Bob on February 10, 2004, 10:19:15 am
From a User:

I purchased a copy of Ice-Ten in December 2003.  Yesterday I spoke to someone there concerning my baud rate his recommendations worked.  But today I have another problem I would like to connect to a remote site using my calling card instead of paying the hotel rates.  But all the numbers will not fit in the space allowed also can the auto dial be taken off?

You can just cancel out of the autodialer and enter the commands manually like this:

ATE1Q0           and hit enter (tells the modem to echo your typing and return results)
ATDT  followed by your long dialing string with the appropriate commas, etc.

Of course ICE.TEN doesn't even have an autodialer so I assume you are using ICE.OFF.SITE. If you ARE using ICE.TEN, you can remove the check in the configuration->serial parameters that says "send string on popup" to keep it from sending your other dial string.

The autodial string in ICE.OFF.SITE holds 255 chars so it's hard to see how you could be running it out of space.
