Title: WINSOCK error
Post by: deannab on October 18, 2006, 11:31:10 am
I have installed ICE.TCP (version 6.091) on a computer that has a new hard drive.  It's also running Windows 98.  After installing the software and issuing the sequence number, I try to open the Dejawint emulator and the following pops up:  "WINSOCK:  error selecting socket".  What does this mean, and what can I do to fix this?  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

Even though this is an out of date unsupported version I can tell you this is a common problem caused by a bug in internet explorer version 5.0. Update ie to 5.01 or 6 and the problem will go away.
