Sessions Losing Connection
« on: January 20, 2004, 03:53:53 pm »

At a remote store location running 2 workstations, each with 3 TCP-PRO sessions open (version 5.080), there are occassions when an active session loses connectivity with the screen going white.  By "active session", I mean an open session that is being used at the moment by store personnel to create an invoice for a customer standing at the counter.

The other open sessions may still be used as the DSL Internet connection is still up and running but the lost session usually means an invoice is lost and must be reentered.  Is there any TCP-PRO settings that would make the sessions more robust to allow for marginal Internet connections?  For reference, the host is SCO Unix Open Server 5.0.5.  Thanks!

Sessions Losing Connection

Since the not-in-use sessions are not closing the indication is that the connection is dropping while the in use session is trying to send. The outgoing characters are in the queue and timeout on send eventually. This will cause the session to die. I'm not sure what the boundaries are on this question regarding timeouts and will do some checking.
