TelNet Pro MFC Application encountered problem
« on: August 19, 2005, 03:23:41 pm »

Disconnects began appearing when the user whose PC acts at the TCP Pro Server had to replace the PC.  New PC has Win XP Pro SP2.  I followed posted instructions on replacing the server, moved data and license folders off old hard drive and copied onto new PC.  Reinstalled server and was able to see licenses.  Installed client portion on same PC as before, shared out the TCP5 User folder, etc.  Downloaded your newest trial version and installed, but having same problem.

This PC and two others are randomly disconnecting with error message window "TelNet Pro MFC Application encountered a problem & needs to close" and it appears to only happen when they're actively using their session.  We can leave the TelNet session up all night idle and it stays open.

This afternoon, it appeared that two PC's happened to be disconnected almost exactly at the same time.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a network problem to me. If you have a bad switch, duplicate arp address, routing problem, etc you would get symptoms like you describe. It's important to note that you would not necessarily see a corresponding problem with web browsing since that doesn't require a constant connection like telnet does.
