ICE TEN Ucopy
« on: August 15, 2006, 09:39:10 am »

I just purchased Ice.Ten to use the Ucopy to transfer a lot of data from an old unix box to a server. I left the office with a list of files highlighted to be transferred. The first file transferred successfully. It started at noon & stopped about 9:45 pm. It started to transfer the second file, but this error came up:

Pocket# Synch error

Can you explain what this error is?

1) The first file that transferred successfully was 34,819 KB. It took hours to transfer. The second file was probably as big as the first, but only a few bytes transferred.
2) No network adapter on the old server.
3) Yes, it was packet, not pocket.

Try it again. In the ucopywin parameters, try setting the packet size to 1024 and the file type to binary.

If that doesn't work, try changing the transfer protocol to plain ymodem

I take it you mean copy the files. If you are asking if there is an equivent to ucopy for our TCP Pro product, the answer is yes, it's an FTP client called FTP Pro. It requires that an FTP server active on the Unix side.

FTP, like ucopy, merely copies files between Unix and Windows. Importing files is a file format conversion process that depends on the App you are importing to.
