Use of local printer in Telnet PRO
« on: August 01, 2007, 05:04:05 pm »

We use the Local Printer in Telnet Pro to send print jobs to network laser printers.  We are having a problem with one program that pauses part way through the report for a few seconds and Telnet is releasing the print job to the printer.  When the program is done pausing, it continues on with its printing as though nothing has happened.  Unfortunately the laser printer sees the rest of the report as a second print job and that job does not have all of the escape sequences in it to set landscape etc and so it does not printout correctly.  Is there a way to tell Telnet to wait longer or to otherwise solve this problem?  Pro Version 5.1.06  WinXP SP2.

Get an update to the newest version of  PRO,  it will give you more printing choices.

To upgrade the existing system, run the updated install, the user install only, choose 5.1 and cancel out when it gets to configwizard. That will allow you to keep all of your settings. In the default profile (assuming you are using default) under printing, you can try the different print methods. If the printer is connected directly to the computer use direct printing. If it's a winprinter try raster printing.

After changing the default profile, exit TelnetPro and rerun it to reload the profile.
