Possible Ports Problems
« on: May 06, 2004, 04:11:06 am »

Recently we have had an issue with our VPN being down making the UNIX server unavailable. When the VPN came back up the user was able to connect to the login screen through Dejavu 6.091 but after entering the login and password nothing would happen, but we would expect an application to be exectuted and display a menu. This works fine internally but the VPN runs through a firewall.

I am currently trying to find out what ports are used with this application to transfer information to ensure that our firewall is not blocking any of them. Please can someone tell me what ports are used for the login and then the terminal enulation!!

Thanks

Telnet uses port 23 and ssh uses port 22 (by default).

If you are actually getting a login prompt and you can login but your app doesn't run then you are most likely looking at a problem on the Unix side.
