Kudos to the development team for getting the printing issues worked out in the new Beta version, at least in my environment...

Just wanted to let everyone know my findings on this topic:

Print Screen now works from the toolbar, and from the File menu. Although, I had to do a bit of configuring to do to get the printer(s) working.  I first went into the default profile, and then into the active profile, (not sure which one actually fixed it, i just learned to always configure both) under the printers option, chose the correct printer from the drop down box; by default there is nothing populated in the box.  After that most of my updated workstations' printers worked in normal print mode.  I had a couple of issues with HP Deskjet 722c printers, I had to change the print mode under the default and active profile to Raster print mode to get that particular printer to work correctly.  In 5.1.21 I could not get that printer working at all!

I have updated about 5 of our workstations to the beta, as the users were having many problems with doing Print Screens, or not being able to print at all.  It seemed to fix those users' printing issues.  I eagerly await the production release of 5.1.23 to implement it site wide.  In the meantime the beta will make do...

Bob,

Can I use this on ICE TCP 4.4 32 bit, Emulation 7.09b?  I am having the issue with trying to print from AIX to WinXP after upgrade to WinXP.  Was working great before the upgrade.

Thanks and have a great day,

I thought you were using plus. I just sent you a demo copy. If you are using 4.4 instead, you should try this 5.1.23 demo version.

Bob,

Can you explain the installation process.  Just run the exe?  I think I only have one ICE workstation connecting to the old AIX.  I bet I can't even find the license for it.  If I rmember right the install process was sort of conveluted and washeavily license based.

Just run the exe. If you have a license already and it's not older than 5.0.81, you just cancel out of configwizard at the end and you won't have to deal with licensing at all.

Bob,

I get a run configuration when I try to run the program.  I can't find the configurator, so if I remember right, I bet they had a central server at one time, and the product was installed from there.  Those PC's have all been removed over time and I no longer have access to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

You can check the shortcut to configwizard on one of the working clients to see what machine it was pointing to as the server to verify that the old licenseadmin server is gone. If you think the licenseadmin server is gone the best thing to do is to add a new one.

You should pick a machine you expect to be around for a while as the license server and install the admin portion on it. You'll need the licenses for the existing product to put in. We can look them up if you can't find them.

Hopefully your other PC's are running 5.0.81 or newer or you'll have to update them too. After installing and adding the licenses to the licenseadmin server make a share out of the TCP5_USER folder in the admin server. The share needs to be full control permissions for all.
Browse to that share from a client PC and then into TCP4-32 and run configwizard44.exe to get a sequence number.

This needs to be done for all of the clients if you have installed a new licenseadmin server or you will get sequence number conflicts.
