Mac Client won't stream JTV recordings from Win server

(1/1)

mstan:
Neither MC20 or MC21 Mac client will stream JTV recordings from MC21 server on WIN7 machine.   TS format recordings work.     Does JTV need to be converted on the client?

I too have noticed this.  Is JTV going to be supported in future versions of MC for Mac?  It's pretty annoying not to be able to playback TV on a Mac instance...  It works on JRemote, but barely.  I get video for about 10 seconds at a time for it to buffer.  If I knock it down to low quality, my wifi can then keep up.  I'm assuming with JRemote it's not sending a pure JTV file from the server and it's doing some form of transcoding on the server?

Any input on this?  Even if MC for Mac doesn't support TV, I'd really like to be able to at least view prior recorded programs cross-platform... Thanks!

JohnT:
On the Mac client, select Tools / Options / Media Network / Client Options / Video Conversion,  and select "MPEG2/DVD NTSC stream".
Now your JTV files on the server should play on the Mac client.
