Media Center forced to close by Windows

Since I have installed Windows 10 I have experienced leaving MC open and a day or so later find that Windows forced it to close.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Any idea why this happens?  I should point out that I have it installed on an external hard drive, but that shouldn't matter.
