I broke the Guide button
« on: June 28, 2016, 05:23:43 pm »

First of all, new to JRiver. Using it for tv recording and watching media. I love it. The customization and features are great.

I've been rearranging theater view to suit me. I put the "Guide" menu on the top level instead of being under "Videos". Everything is working fine except when I press "Guide" on my IR remote it just goes to the top level of Theater view instead of focusing on the TV Guide. What is strange is the "green button" cycles through the top menu, guide, and now playing as it should.

Any thoughts?

The implementation of the guide button is still not very smart.  It expects the guide to be in a certain structured locations.  If you moved Guide to the top level, the button will no longer work.

EDIT: I take the last sentence back.  Quite some time ago I added a kludge to allow Guide to be at the top level, or if you add a "Television" or "TV" item at the top level, and put Guide under it.  So here are the cases in which the Guide button should work:

Video\Guide  (default)
Guide  (at top level)
Television\Guide
TV\Guide

So I am not sure what changes you made caused it not to work.

Got it to work at the top level, which will do fine.

Thanks!
