"real time" record and output of 7.1 analog input to hdmi LPCM

I have been happily using MC21 for a while. And I was hoping it would be able to help me solve a problem.

I am looking for a way to convert a 7.1 (8 channel) analog channel input to a 8 channel LPCM output over HDMI.  I guess I will have to get a 8 channel capable usb sound card with analog input. Then get iriver mc21 to "record", convert it in real time and output via the PC HDMI output in LPCM format. Is this possible?
