MC21 not recognizing Logitech MX3100 dedicated media keys

(1/1)

Rizlaw:
MC21.0.16 does not recognize the dedicated media keys (Play/pause, stop) on my Logitech MX3100 keyboard. These keys are recognized in Quod Libet, gmusicbrowser, guayadeque and Rhythmbox even when the programs are minimized but playing music in the background and don't have the main focus. This an old keyboard in computer years and many versions of Ubuntu have supported it quite well to date.

Is this a known problem in MC21 or is there a setting to get these keys to work?

JimH:
MC has a setting for this.  Search for media key in the search window at the bottom of the options page.

Rizlaw:
Jim,

I am attaching screen shot of section to which I believe you are referring(Options >General > Media Key Mode). I had left it at "Automatic (recommended)" when I initially set all my parameters for MC21. The only other choice is "Disabled", which I don't think would be correct.

It doesn't work as set. Any other ideas?

JimH:
You could try the other setting.

I did, to no avail.
