Cover Art - Won't...
« on: September 04, 2003, 08:10:40 am »

I did a search and didn't find this question, but apologies if I missed it.

I have cover art associated with all my music (about 1250 tunes so far), but I have one album that just won't accept cover art for some reason (Jimmy Buffett Live: Tues, Thurs, Sat - although I assume it's not the album itself that's the problem). Found the art at my usual source (amazon.com) and trying to copy-paste it in like I've done with all my others. A file address appears, but the cover art does not. I've tried other art just to see if it's the graphic itself, but for some reason I can't get cover art to 'stick' on this one album.

And yes I've deleted and retried it about 10 times, same result every time.

Any ideas?

MC9 rocks, I've been with 9.1 from the start, although I prefer the brushed metal skin.

What type of files are you having trouble with?

Most of my wma files don't seem to be able to store the art in the tag though mp3 files are fine.

Wma files still display the cover art as they link to the thumbnail in the cover art directory.

I think that is what should happen when the art can't be stored in the tag.

I discovered a bug in latest releases of 9.1 where albums with characters in their name that are illegal to put in a filename don't paste the image's filename correctly. E.g. the image file for "Blah Blah: Blah" should be "Blah Blah_ Blah.jpg", but MC names it "Blah Blah" and stops at the colon.

To fix this, go to your album art directory and manually rename the file, then point MC to that file.

yes, and someone told me last week the cover art will show up in the \data\ folder

i think this happens when there is a "\" in the artist or album name

Thanks guys, it was a "\" that was tripping it up. I had not noticed it.
Thanks again...
