Using DLNA on MC 19.0.163 running on my Win10 PC and have been successfully sharing files to my Panasonic TV for a few years now.

I recently purchased a Panny blu-ray player which refuses to recognize the MC server at all. So I tried a trial copy of Mezzmo on the same PC and the blu-ray player recognized the Mezzmo server without problem. But if I switch back to using the MC server no luck. I've tried different DLNA profiles without luck. The Panny blu-ray player is a recent model BD360. I made sure it's networking is working by surfing the web with it.

Any suggestion as to why the blu-ray player does not find the MC DLNA server on my PC?

Do you have the MC server turned on?

Yes, server is turned on. It is set to always start at boot time. Like I said I've been using MC with my Panasonic TV for years. It's just my Panny blu-ray player that doesn't see the server at all.

I am guessing that it is a firewall issue.

Ok. What model number is the Panasonic then? If it is a BDT161 or a BDT270 then it is both a player (DMP) and a renderer (DMR).

In that case. You say the DMP cannot see the MC server. So you now need to check if MC can see the DMR. If that does not work either, then you have either a firewall problem (as I said before) or a router problem..

It is a Panasonic BDT-360 and it is both a player (DMP) and a renderer (DMR). Media Center can see the BDT360 without problem. But the blu-ray cannot see MC. I have even tried two different Panasonic blu-ray players of the same model.

I downloaded a trial of Mezzmo and the Panny blu-ray player has no problem seeing it.

EDIT: do you by any chance have two network interfaces on your PC? e.g. Ethernet and Wifi both active.

Just 1 NIC active. Maybe I'll buy a different blu-ray player because I prefer to use MC.

In MC server settings, advanced, try playing with some of the settings DLNA and DLNAextra.

And in any case even if you cannot use the Panasonic as a DMP (pull), you can push to it as a DMR. And that in fact is a far more powerful solution..
