Just a simple question, is sound better in 21 ? vs 20 jriver version.

No need any functions upgrade, question directly about sound.

Opinion of simple users please, no commercial interests.

Plays WASAPI or ASIO -> to Lynx Hilo USB DAC.

Windows platform. (Optimized nootebok win8.1x64, fidelizer, process lasso...)

IMHO there is no difference in sound quality between MC20 and MC21.

The last change that has the potential for changing sound quality was the change in the method of memory playback, which IIRC was when MC20 was first released.

I've stated before on this forum I thought V19 sounded better, but now had more time with V21, I prefer V21. It does sound different, it's punchier. enjoying it.

There was also the optional dither change recently.

It should be the default instead of optional. It sounds better and anyone not reading all the release notes will miss it.

It's useful to have the ability to turn off dither, I use a third party dither plugin, so audio wont be dithered twice. I have a 16bit dac that uses 32 bit ASIO format, JRiver uses 32 (or optional 24 bit) dither, which is not enough, so a third party high quality plugin is used to send 16 bit dither down the 32bit ASIO connection. JRiver's flexibility is great in this regard.

I have not seen "the" anyone post anywhere other than Twitter recently (and Twitter is attractive to such people because a) Twitter "verifies" authenticity of famous people's accounts and b) it is limited to 140 characters, which is appealing to busy people, because posting and reading can be done in a short period of time.

IIRC The Richard D James posted various unreleased material using an anonymous userid.

I remember that back in the 1990's, a few tech savvy famous musicians posted on Compuserve (prior to the web!).  I used to chat with Moby and Billy Idol.  Billy Idol was the first celebrity to stop posting online, because in his last message, he said he had 400 unread messages, and so would never have enough time to keep up...

Was just mucking round, though if it was the RDJ I doubt he'd say 'yes i am'.
I got his userid stuff, took some time to download and save all tracks, some great gems in there...
